The well-known American company General Mills started building its reputation in the 1980s. The idea of Cinnamon Toast Crunch was given by a kid in a radio contest organized by the same company when he said “we want the best cereal idea”. So scientist John Mendesh in collaboration with production assistant Elisabeth Trach wanted to grant the innocent child’s wish. At first, the cereal looked like small squares (like a toast roll), was made of wheat and rice, and finally, it was coated with cinnamon and sugar. Over the years their shape has changed and they now look like long, twisted bites of churros!
