Reeses Puffs are the successor to Reeses Peanut Butter Puffs and are produced by the American company General Mills. Reeses took inspiration for their creation from the Peanut Butter “cups” she creates herself. These “cups” were first released in 1928, and like these cereals, they contained chocolate. Their creator was H. B. Reese, who worked in the dairy and shipping industries. Therefore, the product is named after him. Reeses Peanut Butter Puffs quickly became the favorite snacks of millions of people and brought in the most revenue for Reeses. In fact, they are the best-selling snacks in America. For example, in 2012 their sales exceeded $2.6 billion in revenue.
Reeses Puffs were first released in 1994, and at that time they contained peanut butter flavoured chocolate beans. Their current version has changed, however, as they are now a mixture of chocolate and peanut butter puffs.
